I find it both psychologically and physiologically extremely unlikely that Trump will be in a position in 4 years to do anything other than be wheeled into the Mar-a-Lago dining room each night for applause. Of course, I also hope we'll actually still have a reasonably free and fair mid-term election, let alone in 4 years. I saw a story on Monday that Kamala has told her staff to keep open the possibility of running for CA gov or the big job. That gave me some historical chills, thinking of how the CA run worked out for Nixon. I certainly hope Kamala does pursue elected office once again.

She would be the first Black Female Governor in the USA. 🇺🇸

There has never been a Black female leader of a country that wasn’t majority Black. Ever.

Since we are going back to the year 1963, before there was an EEOC or OFCCP, or affirmative action laws, dems need to nominate a Christian heterosexual cis gender white male for 2028. Period.

A woman will lose.

Anyone “woke” will lose.

Anyone LGBTQ will lose.

Anyone Black, Hispanic, Latino, Native American, Asian, Muslim, etc, will lose.

This country can’t have more than a few women CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies, since the 1990’s…if companies can’t advance and promote women, how in the heck do we expect the general population, with a 3rd grade education level, to vote for women?

And yes, 3rd to 5th grade. USA Today is written at a 5th grade level.

Perhaps. But a Black man won two presidential elections, and a Black and south Asian woman came very close to winning despite the partisan tide working against her. Women continue - slowly, to be sure! - gain ground in Senate, House, and gubernatorial elections. So do Black candidates. And etc. The Democratic Party today is very different in this respect than the 1990s and earlier Democrats. I don't think that's changing, whoever gets nominated for president in 2028.

Things always seem bleak after an election loss, and this is absolutely a particularly disturbing one for those who support democracy. But while I have no predictions, I can say that electoral turnarounds are frequent and often come quicker than expected.

You forgot Ford, which is, granted, a very special case.

No: Ford ran and lost as the sitting president, not vice-president. He sure is a special case, though.

I think I may have to unsubscribe.

America will not elect a woman.

We like tall white heterosexual cis-gender mediocre, or worse than mediocre, men.

Look at all of the mediocre, or worse, governors, CEO’s, senators, congressmen, university presidents…

I had a dream, back in 1996, that more women would be CEOs. More women would be governors.

“Life has killed the dream, I dreamed.

As we go back in time to 1963, cause that is what uneducated white men and women want, I am in shock that people would rather be led by mediocrity than the best candidate.

It’s like watching Hamilton or Six with an all white male cast. Why would you want that?
